Animal and plant mashups

When I created this colour palette I thought it would be perfect for painting plants. But when I sat down to actually paint, I ended up wanting to paint animals as well. So I made a compromise: I picked some plants that had animal names in them, like Beaver Tail, Lilac Squirrel and Cattail, and I decided to to paint these as though they both a plant and animal.

These were all painted during my yearly limited colour palette challenge, Huely, which takes place during July. The aim of the challenge is to create an images using five colours, plus black and white if needed.
