The Nifty Moon Market - UI Exploration

Overview

Moon NFT Marketplace is an app revolutionizing the digital art scene with curated galleries and trading of new and innovative NFT. In this class we explored and built a visual design to lock in the aesthetic of the app.

My Role: UI Design

Time: 4 weeks

Tools: Figma

Type: This project is an assignment as part of the Dribbble UI Design Course

Brief - Objective/Challenge/Problem

As a startup, Moon needs a new visual design for their marketplace app that excites their target audience of NFT creators, crypto buyers/sellers, and digital art enthusiats. For this product we are to design a visual aestethic that captures this market based on research and audience info.

Process

After dissecting the brief and collecting the bases of the audience and company objectives, we explored various UI designs to understand visual techniques and build ideas for the app.

Visual exploration of choice - Dark Mode

Why this direction & Scale

When it came to choice of a visual direction I chose the dark splash screens vs the lighter versions because the base audience of NFT and crypto users probably use dark mode. I was also inspired by finance based apps, since crypto and NFTs mainly function as currency trade, by taking inspiration from Cash App.

Design Systems

Typography, Components and Modules built from the wireframes to fit the visual aesthetic of the Splash Screen.

Final Screens

With the design system and visual aesthetic in place, I went back to make minor edits based on mentor feedback to help with the final screens.

Summary (what I learned?)

Not only did I learn Figma as a design tool, but I learned how the visual aesthetic of a UI design impacts the user experience and brand. I discover a broad range of visuals per various differences in my classmates projects.

Overall, I’m happy with the results of the course, with help/feedback from our mentor Franco, I discovered the potential to build interesting themes per each design and ways to consider the development side of it. From the visual exploration alone there were many routes and hard to just pick one. I’m excited to see how others approach the design and built out their UI screens.
