At LYNK, I led the design of a desktop video chat platform for remote finance professionals. My role involved designing the UI, solidifying the brand identity (logo, colour scheme, and typography), and following UX principles to ensure the product aligned with LYNK’s mission: to create a simple, distraction-free communication tool for remote finance teams.

Understanding the Problem:
LYNK was created to address communication challenges that finance professionals faced after moving to remote work during the pandemic. Previously, in-office teams could connect seamlessly, but remote work made it harder to maintain that fluid interaction. LYNK aimed to recreate that natural communication flow in a remote setting.
User Research:
I conducted interviews with finance professionals to understand their frustrations with existing video chat platforms and their specific needs for remote work. This feedback shaped our design direction, helping us prioritise key features that would best solve their communication challenges.
Wireframes & User Testing:
Based on the research, I created wireframes that focused on simplicity and ease of use. The founder had initial sketches that provided a foundation, and I built upon them to ensure all requested features were included. We iterated the designs through user testing, gathering feedback on navigation and functionality to improve the user experience.
High-Fidelity Mockups:
I then designed high-fidelity mockups with a clean, minimalist interface that balanced functionality with simplicity. The UI was designed to be intuitive, distraction-free, and consistent with LYNK’s brand vision, allowing finance professionals to focus on their work without unnecessary clutter.
Current Status:
The designs are now complete, and the software is in development. We will continue to refine the product based on user feedback, and will conduct extensive testing once the platform is ready to ensure it meets user needs.
Conclusion:
By focusing on user needs and creating a simple, efficient interface, LYNK’s video chat platform is set to enhance communication for remote finance professionals. I look forward to seeing how the final product will support these teams in their daily work.
