Calligraphy Signature Logo Creation

Our client, a well known doctor in town, started a new clinic where she also hosts courses on her medical specialty. She requested a calligraphy style signature for the printed materials she is going to use during trainings. This being her signature, not her logo, we started our pencil sketches considering her personality, desire and reputation, so that the graphic is representative for her. Well known for her elegance as a woman, but also being famous for her care and attention to details and her passionate approach on aesthetics in her job, we had to create some feminine, flowing beautiful shaped letters. We started with the pencil sketches, then adjusted until we came to a final, pleasing result for her expectations, yet still considering principles of pointed pen calligraphy. After this we illustrated the signature with nib and ink on paper, scanned, cleaned and vectored the initials of her name. We used a clean serif font to outline her entire name and harmonize the negative space under the initials.
