C&H S&M

When I was a teenager I was deep into the punk scene and, accordingly, its accompanying aesthetics. I especially loved Vivienne Westwood's crude, sometimes repulsive Seditionaries shirt designs from the first wave of Brit Punk in the late 70's. However, growing up in the Southeastern US (Nashville) had left me with a very different visual vocabulary than the one found in the original British designs. I craved art that referenced and tweaked the common visuals of my everyday, quintessentially American existence.

Now finally (and long since the mohawk was shorn from my noggin) I present Southern Discomfort - a line of homebrewed t-shirts paying homage to the American heartland's bumper detritus. Mmm mmmm... just like the meth grandma used to make! More to come soon...
