Dame De Fleurs - Block Print

The "Dame De Fleurs" print is in part a modern yet primitive interpretation of the Art Nouveau movement of the late 19th century. I have always been inspired by Alphonse Mucha in particular. The Art Nouveau style was one of the first artistic expressions transitioning fine art and illustration into modern graphic design.

The "Dame De Fleurs" design was hand carved and hand printed on 12.5Ă—19 inch 100lb French cover stock with hand mixed water base block printing inks. This print in particular uses a technique of blending two colors in order to achieve a gradient blend.
