Experimental Typography - The Boarded Window

Project Description:

This experimental typography spread was part of a compilation of spreads created by a class at MacEwan University in the Bachelor of Design program. This spread included assigned portions of a story (2 students per story) and an assigned portion of the script of Nosferatu (1922). Students also needed to include some sort of "call-out".

Solution:

The Boarded Window (1891) follows the story of Murlock, and his wife. The main themes of this short story, isolation and loneliness, are represented through the pulling out of all pronouns or phrases referencing Murlock (i.e. he, him, his, Murlock, the man, etc.).
