Wounded Healer Easter 2014

Working on Easter graphics for this years service, I always like to look back on past years to get inspired, but also to make sure we're doing things fresh; Designing for events that repeat yearly can cause creativity to dry up a bit. Since I wasn't on Dribbble last year I thought I'd post our 2014 service graphics!

The theme was Wounded Healer. The idea was that Jesus came not as a conquering king, but as a suffering servant - a servant who healed us by giving his life as a ransom.

I chose to depict Jesus inside a colorful tree carrying his cross symbolic of the great juxtaposition that we see in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
