UI/UX Finance App Concept
Design Software: Adobe XD
I had the exciting opportunity to work with an early-stage personal finance start-up, and the project focused on creating initial concept designs for their app, which aims to help young adults better understand their spending habits. Although the brief was concise, it offered clear guidelines, and I was tasked with designing an app that felt modern, fresh, and fun, specifically targeting users aged 18-30.
Understanding the Vision
The primary goal of the app was to make personal finance management engaging and interactive for young adults. To achieve this, I needed to create an interface that was both visually appealing and intuitive, while ensuring it was simple enough to make financial tracking easy for users who might not be familiar with such tools. The app needed to reflect the youthful energy of its target audience while maintaining a professional and informative tone.
Colour Scheme & Typography
I opted for a dark colour scheme with vibrant accent colours to create a modern and energetic look. This contrast allowed for a dynamic and engaging user interface, perfect for capturing the attention of younger users while ensuring the app remained clear and easy to navigate. The typography was designed to be concise and professional, ensuring readability across different screen sizes, which is essential for keeping users engaged as they explore their finances.
User Flows & Interactivity
Since one of the main features of the app was helping users better understand their spending habits, I designed user flows that were intuitive and engaging. I ensured that navigating through spending categories and tracking habits was seamless, making complex data feel accessible. To further enhance engagement, I included playful animations that added a sense of fun and movement, making the experience more enjoyable while keeping users motivated to track their finances.
Conclusion
Working on this project was an exciting challenge, allowing me to balance creativity with usability. The final designs were visually aesthetic, playful, and intuitive, perfectly capturing the startup's goal of making personal finance fun and approachable for young adults. I’m confident that the modern and engaging interface will help the start-up stand out in the personal finance space, making a positive impact on how young users manage their money.
