Pica's Mexican Taxi

Illustration commissioned by Pica's Taqueria, which serves tasty Mexican food to the Boulder and Louisville communities in Colorado. This artwork is inspired by the classic Volkswagen Beetle taxis that historically operated in Mexico.

My goal was to take the theme a step further by embedding some additional details within the artwork. I started by replaced the words 'TAXI' with 'PICAS,' and the vehicle code with their two Colorado locations. Ingredients for making tacos and margaritas were added to the roof rack as "cargo." Finally, a coastal scene is reflected in the car windows, a reference to the Baja style of some of the dishes served at Pica's.
