A CONTRACT FOR ALL CREATIVES DIGITAL RESOURCE

I had no idea that when I shared my paperwork over a year ago now that it would have an impact as it has done. So many people every week DM or email me saying how much it’s helped and how they wish they had this earlier; yeah I’m in the same boat!

I wish I had this two years ago I wish I had loads of things and experiences I’ve had two years ago. I think that’s the point of this is that I feel like I can definitely speak for the design industry where there is a love for gatekeeping whether that is with style or just plain old elitism.

I think one of the huge differences that can alleviate the initial hurdles in everyone’s career is information access.

We access the internet every day - I’d argue one of the greatest creations we’ve made as humans: the ability to connect globally en masse and instantly. Amazing. It can be weaponised for ill intent and harnessed to improve.

I think it’s at the root of all of this and the initial phases we’re in right now on a lot of fronts:

AI; Social media (yes it’s still young); Digital Art?; Environmentalist/resource conscientious practices; Inclusivity beyond tokenism; Industry norms.

I think to go on past now, you need foundations to be built and foundations don’t get built without these awkward conversations and initial phases.

For the future to look different from the past, I think it’s important that we learn and grow together.
