Monarca Mexican Cantina

Logo Concept for a Restaurant & Bar in Orange County, NY, aiming to fuse the traditional and the modern and take customers for a walk around Mexico with every bite, sip, and design. 

Monarca serves authentic Mexican dishes and drinks in a festive, southern atmosphere & interior. The client envisioned a simple logo that conveys the wide and varied Mexican culture, avoiding stereotypical elements like sombreros and cacti. 

The Brand’s name is derived from the Mariposa Monarca butterfly that holds a high place in the species hierarchy while referring to its objective: to provide customers with service that makes them feel like Kings. 

I decided on a timeless logo that features a bold, yet modern, serif font and Mexican-style floral ornaments. The color scheme is made up of delicate shades that add a feminine element and a family-friendly feel to the design by communicating approachability.
