Here's a detail from the abandoned version. Lots of tweaks I would have made had I continued working on this, such as the brightness of the center grooves, the sides of the tape spool, the fall of the shadows, extra highlights on edging. Once I made the decision that this wasn't going to work in a 50x50 space, however, I simply didn't waste the time.
