Bijou Burglars

This is a fictional book about a group of people in France making a living through diamond smuggling.

The cover does not contain any stock images. I illustrated the diamond in Photoshop by creating an outline to guide my brushstrokes. I then used a watercolor brush to color, add highlights, and details. I then put a gaussian blur over the diamond to blend the colors together. For the typography, France is the setting. So, for the title, I chose a font that looked like it had a French theme. The author’s name is in a cursive font to compliment the title’s font. For the background, I used a blue spatter brush over navy and reduced the opacity. I chose navy because it would allow for the rest of the design to stand out and give some contrast.
