Nike “Commitment to L.A.” Lettering & Illustrations

We collaborated with Nike’s Global Communications team on illustrations and custom type for their “Commitment to L.A.” Gallery released the week following Super Bowl LVI. While Joe Burrow was icing his knees and Aaron Donald was popping champagne bottles, Nike wanted to celebrate the many moments of sports history in the city of Angels: Nike opened it’s first store here in 1976, celebrities like Farrah Fawcett and Alice Cooper shopped at LA Nike shops throughout the ’70s and ’80s, the ’88 LA Olympics were iconic, not to mention all the teams, athletes and youth programs sponsored by the Swoosh.

We were brought on to help illustrate this sports legacy in LA. Our goal: to capture the vibrant but gritty glory of Los Angeles. Nike’s team then integrated the assets into an interactive online gallery. Huge thanks to Nike for involving us in this beautiful ode to LA.
