J.B. Hunt

We’re skipping around in time here because I’m remembering things as I go. Around 1989/90, I was on I-59 in Alabama with my mom and we were behind a J.B. Hunt 18-wheeler. I was just learning to read by using the refrigerator magnet alphabet and sounding words out. I stared at the logo on the truck and thought hard. Then I said out loud, “J… B… Hunt.” And my mom freaked out like, “OMG YOU JUST READ THAT BY YOURSELF! GREAT JOB!” So, every time I saw one of these trucks I felt this huge sense of accomplishment. And we all know designers are obsessed with banners/scrolls. Maybe J.B. Hunt is to thank for that?
(This is Part 6 of #JLFirstLoves, a series where I draw/talk about the first logos I developed relationships with.)
