Mello Yello
Starting around 1990 (which was way too early [I was five years old]), I got in too deep with Mello Yello. I drank so much of that sweet nectar, that it was a major part of my identity. Also it wrecked my teeth. I remember being at my grandmother’s house and watching the commercials with Kyle Petty driving his Mello Yello Nascar super fast and crushing Mello Yello cans. I was like “yeah! fast! I’m five! I’m invincible!” because I was high on caffeine. I collected Mello Yello cans/bottles/boxes throughout all the brand changes through high school. I stopped drinking Mello Yello in the late 2000s (and switched to coffee).
