Checkout Revision
My Role
The first version of checkout was designed before my time.
The process for the second version was managed by our CPO. Requirements were passed to me, I created workflows, basic wireframes, and suggested colors. The CPO and Development team made final decisions on visual layout.
I mentored interns through the third version and was ultimately responsible for gathering requirements, managing expectations, managing the creative process, and passing specks.
The Problem
The first two versions of Rosie's checkout had two primary problems. They were:
- Not scalable, and
- Unusable.
The Solution
Version 3 of checkout was the beginning of our widget system, in which we broke down checkout into reasonable chunks . This divide and conquer approach enabled us to create a system with a significantly higher ROI.
Within a month of the release of this new version of checkout, we decreased cart abandonment by 10%.
