GASSi - The Dog Walking App
Gassi is the app where busy dog owners and dog lovers come together to help each other out. The app works like a platform, allowing dog owners to find someone that can walk their dog when they’re not able to and giving lonely dog lovers the opportunity to spend time with a furry friend.
Research
Out of my interview, and the market research, I identified important issues for dog walkers and already saw ways on how to implement them with specific features in the app. Also, I created a User Persona out of the information I gathered.
Structure
I connected the user flow as a whole but split it in parts. The user can finish in one go while also taking breaks and start browsing whenever he/she wants. The following wireframes show the log in flow as well as finding a dog walker and writing a message.
Visual Design
As for colors I chose earthy and neutral ones. Green is GASSIs main color scheme as it represents nature, calmness and safety. I chose light purple as an accent for labels and secondary actions to bring back a pop of color and give a bit of contrast. For the typography I chose Poppins. It is a simple and modern font fitting for an app.
The logo I wanted to be playful and cute just like the dogs themselves to add a little emotion. The icon I put on top of the “i” has the great opportunity to be used on its own or as a favicon.
In the process of designing the app, I created a few components with varients to keep the look consistent. I saved them inside a small design system together with the color palette, typography and logo.
The App
Enough talking. Let’s look at the App.
