Finley Home 2015

Finally wrapped this up and launched it last weekend. Very happy with how it turned out. This is a realign more than redesign. The original design was launched in October of 2013, included a lot of texture and felt right for the time. The new is much simpler, moving away from texture and towards more minimal design.

It was my first real, personal blog in years. Powered by Ghost, which was brand new at the time, I had to learn a new template language (Handlebars) and deal with the limitations of the software. A year later, the limitations are much less. Tag pages, author pages, good tag management, and much more have been added to Ghost. For one, we now offer a link to photos of Charlotte, our daughter, which uses a tag page and offers our family a quick way to get photos of their favorite baby.

This is a work in progress, with minor tweaks and more fully featured author and tag pages coming, as well as post images taking the header when available. Ghost has certainly become a great blogging platform and I would recommend it to anyone.
