Small Modular Reactor
Hello Dribbblers! π
Given the recent energy challenges on the European continent, we wanted to make an impact. Together with 10Clouds designers, weβve created a Small Modular Reactor concept - an alternative energy source that could turn the tides of the European energy crisis.
SMRs are nuclear fusion reactors that are smaller than conventional nuclear reactors and typically have an electrical power output of less that 300MWe or a thermal power output of less that 1000MWe. At scale, these energy sources could become a safe alternative to fossil fuels, especially in regions where wind and solar power arenβt economically viable. That's why we wanted to make a contribution!
How do SMRs work?
They are designed to be manufactured at a plant and transported to a site to be installed. Modular reactors have reduced on-site construction times, increased containment efficiency and are claimed to enhance safety. Improved safety comes as a result of using passive safety features that operate without human intervention, a concept already implemented in some conventional nuclear reactor types. SMRs also reduce staffing versus conventional nuclear reactors. SMRs are claimed to cross financial and safety barriers that inhibit the construction of conventional reactors.
If you know any company specialized in nuclear energy sources, we would love to develop this concept further. Turning these SMRs into reality could have a direct impact on our lives!Feel free to likeΒ β€οΈ, commentΒ π¬Β and share
