Love What You Sell - Membership Portal

The Client:

Grace has an eCommerce business course for busy moms. The course includes many video lessons that are dripped over time in phases so that her students can enroll and complete the program in smaller cohorts.

We wanted to develop an organized course portal so her students wouldn’t feel overwhelmed by the content AND reduce the number of support tickets Grace’s team might receive.

The Solution:

Here’s what I strategized to improve the UX of the course and hit our goals:

  • I encouraged Grace to film a welcome video and then I automated it to appear on the dashboard the very first-time students logged into the course, kicking off their experience with a warm hello that felt personal and taught them how to use the platform!

  • There are 3 phases in the program that Grace organized her modules into. I designed clear paths of content so students would know exactly what module they should complete next.

  • I designed a “locked” icon and a date countdown timer to appear over phases that were not yet released so students could see when they would become available.

  • I created a progress bar to help students track their completion of the course. I also made it easy for them to find the exact place where they left off when they logged in the next time.

  • I designed a separate page for each module that contained the video lesson and a clear list of corresponding downloads, resources, and transcripts.

  • I made it extremely easy for students to find the course calendar, Zoom call links, and support contact details.

With these thoughtful strategies, we really took Grace’s course to the next level!
