Life of food in smart refrigerators

This conceptual design was created for one of the online competitions. The task was to create a design that would help the people identify the expired food and groceries that are lying in the fridge.

After reading the task I took a little diversion and gave a holistic thought from a UX perspective. If the app identifies the expired food & groceries and notifies the people about it, it's nothing more than just a news; It would only help the people clear the fridge, which they can do even without the application; Just that we people might need a little strong sense of smell or visual indication to identify that a food is expired 😜.

So the goal shifted from "identifying expired food & groceries" to "Error Prevention (making people utilize the food & groceries inside refrigerator before they expire)". When people stock up their weekly supplies they can scan the products' QR codes which will capture their expiry/best before dates. and later use the same information to utilize the products before they expire or while they are still fresh by suggesting them recipes and dishes of their preferred cuisine.
