Jim Elliot Illustration

Early in my design school days, one of our projects was to create an illustration of one of our heroes. I had recently read Shadow of the Almighty by Elisabeth Elliot and was very encouraged by the life of her husband, Jim Elliot (1927-1956). Jim Elliot was a missionary to the Waodani people in Ecuador. He and his four other missionaries were martyred after making contact with the tribe. In his journal, he wrote this quote surrounding this illustration, "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
