Dribbble Weekly Warmup - City Poster

A city I love to visit is my hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana, (the circle city, Indy, NapTown, etc.). I had originally wanted to focus on the canal walk and do a works project esque poster, but Indianapolis is so well known for racing that I shifted my focus over to historical racing posters of the Grand Prix from Monaco. I based the lettering off of those early Monaco Grand Prix posters as well, but cutting a star out of the D of Indy to reference the flag. I originally was also going to paint this poster in the style of Italian futurist watercolors and oils, but I went even closer to the Monaco posters by switching to a screenprint-inspired limited palette.
