Open App Animation

Windows Phone uses a turnstile motion for the bulk of its transitions. This occurs whether a user’s opening an app, diving deeper, or even completely backing out of the app. The result is that after awhile there's not only a sense of monotony from overuse, but also a lack of hierarchy and a loss of place.

Here I’m playing with the idea of introducing Windows 8’s app opening animation on phones, reserving the turnstile for page turns within apps.
