Ravenshire Castle
Third #tbt (#ThrowbackTuesday) Dribbble shot for today. Years ago, I led product design for the game Ravenshire Castle when I worked in gaming. Ravenshire Castle was part of the Ravenworld trilogy of games and was the third installment of the trilogy - the games had around 4 million Monthly Active Users.
I worked on defining and creating the UI to ensure user happiness without sacrificing product and business goals of retention, user acquisition, and monetization. A huge part of what I did was defining the user experience on a macro and micro level - ensuring the user flows all made sense, as well as defining how the three game mechanics in our game all reinforced each other rather than stand independently so that users felt like they were playing one game with one experience rather than three mini games. I had a junior visual designer on my team that worked very closely with me to define the visual language of the game.
I also worked very closely with Engineering to ensure technical feasibility, Product Management to interweave the reinforcement of our product goals into the gameplay, and Artists/Animators to balance Product's goals without sacrificing our users' enjoyment of the game.
Real pixels are attached...sort of. Some of them are screenshots that I kept.
