Harwood Institute: public capital reports
The Harwood Institute approached Dresden about creating a more uniform, refreshed way to template their public capital reports - the detailed analysis and proposed paths forward presented to communities seeking to bridge divides, build capacity, and tackle shared challenges.
Harwood needed future reports to tie together visually but still be customized enough to fit the unique results of each community they partnered with. To allow for both of these requests, we created a uniform cover layout where the city name and photos would be the only variation between reports but, for the interior, we left flexibility for differing content lengths, topics covered, and quotes used while maintaining the same brand application, header/body/pull quote treatment, and design elements throughout every report.
The team at Dresden has produced three reports so far using this template (Reading, PA; Lexington, KY; Clarksville, TN) and are working on a fourth.
We have been encouraged during difficult times in the United States to see glimmers of hope in the conversations, self-evaluation, and community endeavors in cities across America.
