Red Cabin Creative - Identity & Logo Design

Red Cabin Creative is an ecommerce brand developed to sell art, enamel pins, and other small accessories. RCC is a split from my own product and design work that I have developed over the last few years. This logo and brand identity is a refresh after our first two successful operating years considering the product and offerings established a consistent visual identity and aesthetic.

Our original logo featured a sketch of a rustic log cabin with a simple label of 'Red Cabin' in black (pictured below). It proved challenging as the name 'Red Cabin' invokes a rustic, nature feel but over time our products adopted bright pop colors. I drew inspiration on this design from French hotel and motel imagery. Having the neon open the door to the colorful and bright products, while the 'metal frame' of the logo gives enough of an industrial/rustic feel to not conflict with the brand name. Suspended in time, further inspired by the bohemian styles featured in the Moulin Rouge film.

Black & White and Alternative Options

The primary logo uses color (red & pink) for the neon effect. Knowing this would translate poorly to black and white applications, I developed alterative logos for those use cases. Below are examples of the B&W stylings, in addition to ones without the neon, and with different colors.
