Chic – Black Music Project

The Black Music Project was created to celebrate, promote, and preserve the idea that the history of Black American music is the story of America. The website (www.blackmusicproject.com) features genres and artists from eras ranging from the pre-Civil War to the end of the 20th century. It also explore lesser-known stories, like the hidden history of the banjo and Black cowboy music of the mid to late 19th century, which exemplify untold stories of American history.
