Calendr

The System

The calendar offers you the chance to provide meeting planners an innovative tool that shows them details, location and prices to book a venue immediately. The tool tracks all venue and individual room bookings and can be adapted to each venue individually through the widget.

The Objective

The main objective was to take what had already been developed and re-imagine it in a way that would make sense for the users. One main thing the current calendar lacked was a sense of clarity as it became bloated to the extent it no longer looked like a calendar. Taking the current calendar and designing it to allow a new user to see it for the first time and understand it’s functions was an incredible challenge.

Before / After

Process

To understand the direction needed to create this calendar I first had to grasp how it should function as oppose to the way it did. By reverse engineering the calendar to inspect each of it’s functions I was able to take it apart and fix any under developed areas whilst adding features of our own. The existing calendar only featured a monthly view that showed individual venue room prices, whereas the new design features a weekly and monthly view capable of seeing multiple room prices per room, per day.

Multiple Views

The calendar also as mentioned earlier had to display for both a monthly and weekly view. Essentially this had to be two completely separate designs as far too much information would have to be displayed on the monthly view. This meant some creativity was involved when deciding how to display all of the extra information regarding individual rooms and prices for each day of the week. Below are the two calendar views side by side.
