The thoughts behind the design:

The user of the web calendar wants to have a fast way to overview all his open tasks/meetings that are planned on the day/week/month.

As a bonus, he wants to be able to create a meeting right away without needing to select a certain time in the calendar.

Usable --> The user sees his open tasks/meetings with the core information right away

Equitable --> Creating different states of the buttons helps users with visual impairment to see what currently is selected.

Enjoyable --> Displaying the images of the meeting attendees and showing the meeting duration right away rases the enjoyment.

Useful --> The user has a quick overview of his daily tasks/meetings.
