Game design

Agora is a desktop game I developed during my graduation.

Needless to say, it was inspired by Paper Please, but also by my own novel - A Supremacia Knight, a book I wrote and published as a teen.

I designed the player experience, the game levels, the story and also developed the game. It's not available online, unfortunately. But if you're interested, I can walk you through the story.

The game tells the story of a futuristic but old fashioned country named Agora (means Now), where people with superpowers (muthanos) exist and are enslaved. Every ten years there is a country-wide inspection to find and capture new muthanos, and the player is a voluntold inspector. The game has a very simple gameplay, where the player only needs to inspect some papers and stamp some IDs. Every citizen brings a blood exam, and the player has to look for some specific results that indicate if the citizen is muthano or not. If they're not, then their ID gets a stamp and they're good to go. If they're muthano, then the inspector has to press a button that will call the police.

Every day, though, the rules change, and the player needs to pay attention to other things, and conduct new procedures due to fraud attempts. But throughout the game, as the player hears the citizens, they can start to empathize with them, and help them fight this unfair system. Well. Or not. The game has multiple endings according to the player's decisions.

In the future, I will bring the whole design system created for this game, and explain the thought process behind it.
