Snackbars and alerts

It's curious how there is no convention regarding the name of the certain UI elements. I used the naming found in Material UI. Curiously in other Design Systems I found options like Flags or Toasts instead of Snackbars, or Section Messages and Inline Notifications for Alerts.

Here are the definitions I came up with for the development team:

Snackbars appear on the right top part of the screen (floating and overlaying). It is a short, time-based messages that slide in and out of a page and provide non-disruptive information. Disappear automatically or can be dismissed by user.

Alerts appear locally and provide users with non-disruptive feedback, the status of an action, or general information regarding the local section (object in view).
