Deenee is the all-in-one Islamic education app for children between 7 and 14 years. It helps your child learn and love Islam through fun bite-sized lessons, teaching all the Islamic essentials.

The App

Deenee has 5,000+ interactive lessons, quizzes, stories, and audios.

Deenee offers a gamified experience with real-time feedback, quizzes, trophies, and rewards to keep the children engaged with the learning until the very end.

Parents, get informed on the progress and can motivate their children by giving feedback in the app on which lessons their children have mastered and are applying in their daily life

Starting the project

Starting from the content inventory we had, we quickly started to set outcomes and goals and unlike other apps, our main goal was to encourage and promote practicing the lessons in real life.

Working closely with the product owner which happens to have 4 kids fitting our targeted personas and he himself is another persona "The Parent" allowed us to have rapid and constant testing which we have expanded to other kids and parents by the end of the project.

Epics & Taskflows

After going through extensive research with the aim of defining what tics and what isn't with the kids across other apps we broke down our app into 4 epics and jumped to outline the task flows and stories for each epic.

Wireframes

Low-fidelity wireframing allowed us to test early on and improve early on.

UI Design

Designing for kids is fun, yet challenging. To build an engaging, memorable, and efficient experience for the kids we had to engage all their senses in the experience, and with the help of the great illustrator Maria Keller, she did design a great mascot that will be the children's friend during their learning journey.

Not only that but colorful, irregular shapes, fun interactions, and fun sound interactions were used all across the user interface.

Gamification

Children get rewarded with coins, gems, and trophies to keep them engaged with the learning until the very end.

Progress tracking

Parents can easily see the progress of their children and motivate them to apply their learning by rewarding them with special gems to apply their learning in their daily life.

Finalizing

The outcomes of this project were amazing and the journey was full of fun and it also consisted of working on the tablet version of the app and the landing page.
