A Heart of Ruby

The fine folks at MountainWest RubyConf—lead by the intrepid Mike Moore—asked me to design this year's official conference tee. It was a real gem of a project. See what I did there?

I know it's weird, but the California Gull is actually the Utah state bird.

See, Mormons were saved from starvation when California Gulls showed up to gorge, vomit, gorge, vomit, and gorge some more on invading crop-eating locusts.

And Ruby's creator "Matz" is a Mormon.

And this Ruby conference is in Salt Lake City.

And who doesn't love a mid-century modern art seagull with a gem heart?

So it all worked together in a real heck of a neat way.
