Pattern Collection

Vovó's Maçã pattern collection is inspired by my time making apple sauce and apple jelly with my Vovó (grandmother). The hero pattern, Apple Jelly, is a densely packed design that depicts apples, apple peelings, containers, spoons, and a pairing knife. The Green Ambrosia pattern, or the secondary pattern, is a simpler yet equally dense design; it is heavily inspired by the leafy apple trees on my Vovó's property. Semente de Maçã, the blender pattern, has apple seeds repeating in a way that mimics Portuguese tile patterns. Finally, although added much later, the Cornflower pattern captures the cornflower design found on my Vovó's many ceramic dishes.
