Interactive mobile experience to examine important civic issues

Every Voice Engaged runs online deliberative discussions on their platform, Common Ground for Action. Participants learn more about an issue, evaluate possible actions and tradeoffs, and find a shared basis for next steps or resolutions. Every Voice Engaged wanted to improve the experience to increase reach and engagement, especially among younger and more diverse audiences.

The highest priority for the prototype was to present the issue guides’ material in an engaging format. We designed drag-and-drop activities, such as asking a user to choose their five most important actions related to an issue. A user's position is visually mapped relative to common positions to help them better understand their own values around a specific issue.
