U.S. Air Mail Postage Stamp ...
... what you see here above, I made for a personal poster project. It’s a partly, almost authentic reproduction of a portion of a »US Air Mail« postage stamp from 1960.
... the original lettering of this postage stamp was created by Herb Lubalin and John Pistilli, the »Lincoln« illustration by Joseph Lombardero. (see the original here: Air Mail Abraham Lincoln).
… besides the »key« characters »US« and the figures »25«, witch I tried to reproduce (AI / check attachment of vector) as authentic as possible, I didn’t reproduce the »Air Mail« lettering of the original. – I used Michael Gene Adkins typeface »ARB 67 Modern Roman« based on a design of the famous American sign painter Alf Becker. – In my opinion it looks better!
