Downton Abbey Season III Site

Project overview

It was really difficult to find anything that the fans demanded more than just trying to keep up with all the different characters bouncing in and out of episodes. So let's give them a place where the audience can find characters from the show, including their historical backgrounds, image galleries, video snippets and social media posts.

This user flow is based on common tasks and interest that the target user would engage in on the site.

Design Process

Clean and contemporary was the choice for the design feel. There were so many amazing pictures to choose from I needed to hire an assistant to go through them...not!

Style Guide

The goal was to keep a very limited palette for season 3. The images and vides were going to be do the heavy lifting.

Since Downton didn't actually have it's own comprehensive style guide, we created a version for every season based on the intertwining story.

Social Media Integration

PBS, a nonprofit network that normally targets a more selected, older age group, has found the perfect formula to market themselves and to vastly expand their target market through Downton Abbey using Social Media.

Though this has become a new “normal” in the marketing world, it has proven time and again that utilizing all social media venues is one of the best marketing tools out there.

This further proves that tailoring a marketing campaign through various platforms to properly promote a product or service is not only crucial but a necessity in the current business model.
