The Gallery Of Solidarity Monograph
The Gallery of Solidarity consists of a valuable collection of 375 works of art (paintings, graphics, drawings, sculptures and photographs) sent to the city of Kotor and Montenegro, as a sign of solidarity after the catastrophic earthquake in 1979, by artists from Yugoslavia and several foreign countries.
DDHD Studio was approached by MPI Museums Kotor management, and tasked to create the design for a hardcover book, with emphasis on its high documentary and historic value. Our goals were to present this piece in a highly institutional manner, always keeping the design discreet, allowing the text content and displayed artworks to be perceived and observed without stylistical interference. In summary, the cover presents a modern monument to the renewed walls of Kotor, and all of the artists who were credited for their kindness. The idea of solidarity was presented as the red ribbon, symbolizing people's union and the help they provided, thus forming The Gallery Of Solidarity.
