Logo Design for Sugarpine Press

Logo concept for an independent publishing company that publishes fantasy literature and adult science fiction in both e-book and audible form. 

The client envisioned a design that conveys mystery, evokes curiosity, and plays on the concept of light in the darkness.

The target audience is fantasy and science fiction readers who love highly original stories and wonder about the deep mysteries of life.

I came up with a postage stamp-styled logo that tells a story that immediately triggers emotions and leaves the viewer wondering - is this an amusing predicament or one that’s slightly sinister. 

It depicts a sugar pine – the largest pine tree in the world, a fairy – one of the characters in the company’s first published book, the sun, and the moon.
