Logo Design for Le Capsule

Logo concept for a restaurant & after-work beer bar in France, near Nantes.

The client envisioned a sophisticated, yet dynamic logo that works equally well for both elements of their business – the daytime restaurant, and the nighttime bar, while maintaining cohesiveness with a local brewery it’s part of.

The clientele of La Capsule is very heterogenous and includes businessmen and women, artisans, workers, and families looking for a warm and welcoming place that combines the simplicity of bistro cuisine with the friendliness of a beer bar.

I came up with a simple wordmark that bridges the classic and the contemporary. The hand-written style complements the venue’s relaxed atmosphere and local, seasonal cuisine.

To freshen it up and give it a modern touch, I combined it with a clean, legible sans serif font.
