ML Platform for Eye Surgeons Onboarding
An eye care clinic created a concept for a machine learning model that would perform intraocular lens (IOL) power calculations prior to lens replacement surgery. The ML model could produce more accurate calculations by evaluating the lens location and the postoperative refractive targets. The concept relied on four classic lens power calculation formulas and the clinic’s custom approach.

Having assessed the client’s requirements, we leveraged the Angular + AWS tech stack to build a web application with the following features:
✔️ Modules for performing lens power calculations, optimizing formula constants, and predicting refractive errors
✔️ Lens refractive power assessment based on several parameters, including eye measurements, target refraction numbers, and a patient’s eye condition (untreated vs. postoperative)
✔️ Interactive, visually appealing dashboards with customizable charts
✔️ Option to download calculation results as PDF files
The ML platform helps promote the customer’s approach among eye care specialists and improves the IOL surgery outcomes.
