The Old Man And The Sea

I found a scribble in my sketchbook for The Old Man and The Sea where the book cover blended in with the scene. I worked on the sketch more and digitalized it in Procreate. I wanted to try to draw water ripples and waves as simply as I could. Coloring took the longest. I tried all blue and it looked bland. I went with orange to add contrast but it still wasn't quite there. I finally went with just orange and black. I think it fits the book's theme well, the battle against nature. The typography needs work but I'm good overall with what I wanted to accomplish.
