Electric Pill Case Study
Desert Experience
The Electric Pill project became my outlet in many ways. Essentially, it is one
big illustration, which was pleasant to work on and really meditative to draw.
The experience was supposed to immerse website visitors in the atmosphere
of flying over a beautiful large-scale landscape and colourful sunset .
While drawing it, I was in a state of flight for several days,
soaring over the hot dunes and analysing details.
When it comes to animation, Igor’s help was much appreciated.
The task for him was: to create such a passage of the camera, so that the viewer could immerse himself in it and feel the flow of space and time. Igor animated each layer individually with a bit of lag to create the parallax effect.
Everything was animated in Adobe After Effects.
Working with curves and gradients are techniques I am quite familiar with. So I easily made an illustration in Figma. Must confess: I love this editor since it is convenient to work with points and curves there. Moreover, it's wonderful when an illustrator and a designer work on the same platform.
Generally, immersing myself in the day & night atmosphere of dunes and depicting it myself was an enjoyable process of understanding the intersection between nature and digital design. Only after the animation did I realise what a tremendous scope of work was done and how meditative it looks like.
