Price Lists Marketplace

Price Lists Marketplace

A price list is a catalog of vision care materials and prices from a specific vendor. The price lists marketplace allows providers to discover them, see the type of products they offer, and activate them to be attainable at the rebate transaction.

In this dashboard, three rows of content hold different price list types. Heading the list is the “My Price Lists” category. I wanted users to be able to find and reference the information they need quickly from a price list they activated and also to resolve any steps required to complete a price list activation process that has a pending status. The second row holds the lens and frame price lists. Lenses have greater interest from eye care providers as these have a more significant revenue opportunity with each additional coating added. Finally, the frames price list is placed at the bottom to round up the experience and offer collections with innovative materials and designs.

Price Lists Cards

I wanted to ensure that each price list card has the right type and amount of information to convince users to explore more and discover if the vendor offers fit their business needs. Therefore, depending on the price list type (frame or lens), I presented a set of variables that influence the decision-making.

We found that convenience is the most important factor when adopting a lens price list. This is why lens price lists cards show values like the number of labs available to produce an order, days open, and delivery estimates.

On the other hand, the frame selection in an optical shop is more arbitrary and depends on the taste of the person that selects the styles. For this reason, the frame price lists cards have more space to display lifestyle images that communicate the brand and might influence the buyer.

Lens Price List - Detail Page

The lens vendor detail page is where users will decide whether to adopt a new price list or not. One of the biggest challenges we found when testing the product is the reluctance of providers to switch from a lens price list they have used for years to a new one. This is due to the lack of knowledge about the vast product offerings in the market, their characteristics, and how these could fit into their services. Therefore, I created a lens equivalence chart that allows the user to identify the parallel product in the vendor’s catalog to what they are currently using. With this tool, users can feel confident about the type of product they could get and find a price that brings more revenue to their business.

Frame Price List - Details Page

The Frame Price List Details Page is where users can discover the collections (brands) a vendor carries, models and costs. At this point of the experience, users will be looking for stylish brands they can offer at their locations. For this reason, I focused on presenting a set of elements that communicate the tone and feel of the brand. Users can also look up models or brands they typically carry at their location.

This marketplace is a tool that unleashes eye care providers from the big corporations that monopolize the vision care space and unites them with independent vendors that offer exceptional quality at a better price point.

Ultimately we want the users to feel empowered and choose who they want to work with, what type of products they want to offer to their patients, and get more money for their business. After this first approach, I believe there are more opportunities to explore, like a more extensive comparison tool, an in-app price list activation flow, and a feature to place orders from the app.
