Google(with its net revenue of 67 million US dollars) is going to have to pay up $118 million to settle a class-action gender discrimination lawsuit that covers about 15,000 women. The press release mentions that Google has to bring in an independent labour economist to evaluate its hiring practices and pay equity studies. You should also take into account that earlier, it was alleged, in the complaint , that Google "locks women into lower career tracks,leading to less pay and lower bounses when compared to their male counterparts".
