Inhabit | Platform v3
Inhabit | Platform v3
Inhabit is building a platform to help SMEs measure their footprint and reach carbon neutral. I joined the team at its very early stages as their sole designer. There was not a brand style nor a fully built platform yet, so I had all to play with.
After our platform v2 redesign, we found two main issues we needed to address:
Problem 1: The whole platform redesign meant that development would take too long for the business goals that was set by our CEO. We needed a less development-heavy rework that we could push out at a quicker pace.
Solution: Merge the layout of v1 with the graphs and visual elements of colours and typography of v2. This meant that we could upgrade the visual and feel of the platform but keep the main backend structure that our dev had built already, compromising our branding for a much quicker development roadmap.
Problem 2: Despite good feedback on our product, we found that some of our customers weren't actively using our platform regularly.
Solution: We needed to focus on nailing our MVP and find out whether our product is right for our users. So we decided to work in an agile environment, focusing on only a couple of features each sprint, tweaking elements, testing features and seeing whether each change would improve the product usage with our users, as well as focusing on our main business goal of MRR.
The result: We stripped down a lot of the features, focused on fixing the data collection, did more user interviews, reworked the user journey, and did more internal testing and feedback sessions. We then managed to bring the rest of our customers onto our platform to enter their data.
