Basify

Base got a pretty sweet upgrade. Base - which is Uber's universal Design System utilized for all consumer-facing products - teamed up with the a11y team and built "Basify". Basify is a suite of accessibility plug-ins and tools, allowing the design process to be equitable and inclusive, from the first very pixel. 

1. Annotations: An auto-annotation tool for screen readers for each component of a screen. 

2. Color Stress Test: Allows our designers to emulate different types of color blindness for any screen/interface. 

3. Text Resizing: Allows our designers to test accessibility text scaling for any screen.

4. Dark Mode: Toggle between day and night mode for any screen. 

5. Base Score: Putting it all together. A tool that autoscans any page and scores it for accessibility, out of 100 max points.
